What does your free consultation involve?

In order to get a good understanding of the opportunities and constraints involved with the proposal and see if there are any planning implications, we offer a free no obligation consultation (including quote for our services) at a time that suits you to discuss the processes involved and any questions you may have.

Do I take notes during the consultation?

No. We follow up every consultation with a letter outlining the design stages, timescales and the neccessary fees involved. The letter is sent by email usually within a couple of days after the initial consultation. If the works involve third party involvement such as a Structural Engineer, more time may be required to issue a letter.

Could you send a fee letter in the post?

We can send a fee letter in the post subject to your request.

Do I need to make a decision straight away?

Not at all. You are entitled to take as much time as you like however you will have 30 days to agree the initial quote from the date the fee letter was issued. If you decide at a later date outside the 30 days, we will issue revised timescales and costs subject to our workload.

Do you offer after hours or weekend consultation?

If it is difficult to arrange a suitable time and date during the week, we do carry out after work or weekend consultation however they are very limited due to demand and other commitments.

Is there anything I should bring to your attention during the consultation?

It would be beneficial to know your timescales. For example, if you aim to start works before a key date or deadline, we should be aware of this so we can programme our works and timescales accordingly. If you mention a key date or deadline as the project progresses, we will need to be aware of this as soon as possible to ensure we have enough time to complete the works. If key dates or deadlines are unrealistic, we can not guarantee to complete the works and will offer an estimated date for completion of works.

If I was happy with the quote, would you be able to start a measured building survey straight away?

I'm afraid we cannot our services straight away such as a measured building survey due to other scheduling commitments. What we can do on the day, if offer our earliest date possible to come back to the the property for a measured building survey.
